The island of "la Cité" is where all the history of Paris started. This is where are located Notre-Dame cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle and its stained glass windows, and the Conciergerie, a former royal palace turned into a prison during the French Revolution.
This guided tour will help you understand better all the history of Paris, from the origins to the Middles Ages and until today. You will also learn more about Notre-Dame Cathedral, still standing after the fire, that you can visit from outside.
Walking along the Seine river, you will stroll by the flower market and the Court House, until you get to the Pont Neuf, or "New Bridge".

Tips for your visit
There are 2 options for this tour:
- Simple Ile de la Cité walking tour: walk around the island, without entering any monument. Duration: 2 hours.
- Ile de la Cité combined tour, including Conciergerie and Sainte-Chapelle: walk around the island, and enter inside the Conciergerie and Sainte-Chapelle for a more comprehensive tour. Duration: 3 hours.
This walking tour is accessible with wheelchair or stroller. Please note that there are some cobbled streets or uneven floor. The Conciergerie is not accessible with wheelchair.
Conciergerie and Sainte-CHapelle Skip-the-line tickets
Skip-the-line tickets for adults:
- Conciergerie only: 11,50 Euros
- Sainte-Chapelle only: 11,50 Euros
- Combined ticket (Conciergerie + Sainte Chapelle): 17 Euros
